My english teacher can probably interpret this movie 😂. I love Charlie Kaufman but this one fell flat for me. For me it felt like a perfect case of “just because you meant to edit or film something a certain way as an artistic choice doesnt make it good or enjoyable to watch”.

Don't drop acid before you watch this. Can someone explain what the call that lucy receives means. I wish you'd have marked where the satelite is in the cloverfield one, i still couldn't see anything. Janitor= the person who follows behind to clean up. He's the storyteller because that's what's left at the end of our lives: the stories that we tell ourselves. It's a disjointed non sequitur narration because, when depression and age attack simultaneously, it's less about rationality and more about fleeting impressions of emotional landscape (the car trip) dark and obscured by snow. She keeps saying she needs to get back home to finish work that's coming due.

THE MUNCHKIN AINT HANGING. ITS LITERALLY JUST A FLAMINGO. Aww man. I cant watch this, I just finished the movie. Watched this after seeing the movie and im pretty sure this would have confused me more if i watched it before. There are rules to editing, created and codified by Walter Murch. The best part is that the rules are prioritized in order of importance, with the highest being emotion of the scene- the one rule you can't break, and all other rules are subservient to communicating the emotion of the scene. So yes, there are rules, and the rules tell you exactly when to break the rules.

The whole movie is jake as an old man visualizing this perfect life in his head when he was younger that he could have had a beautiful woman, romance, happy ending life. In which we all want. He never got it. So In the movie he imagines the whole story. his mom says he is controlling so he is the one who is controlling Lucy in the movie, meaning Lucy is Jakes subconscious. She also has thoughts to herself & jake replies which all ties together that he knows what she is thinking because they are his thoughts. I believe the change of clothes, age of his parents. weirdness of the dog was so random because they wanted to interpret it not being real, make believe. The psychological factor this movie had on me was crazy it wasnt even that interesting i jus had to decode it 😂 She always “thinks about ending things” because that is the symbol of jake ending his life in the end because the life he wanted he never had. They are supposed to be the same person in the movie. Its all in how you interpret the movie it really is jus a metaphor for depression leading to suicide in a movie.

The editing was 100% intentional. I mean it's charlie kaufman, he's gonna hire the right people. She is a fake character made up in a old man's head to try escape the boring few memories he has left. I didn't see anything that looked like a hanging munchkin. Just watched it. Unusual and bonkers and beautiful 😷. Makes so much more sense after watching this. Thanks. This entire movie was extremely hard to watch. You deserve so many more subscribers, the production value of your videos is always such a delight. Watchmojo missed the mother of all creepy background scenes in a movie: Three men and a baby. Can someone explain why lucy/lucia/louisa/amy receives a call from yvonne (that vegan waitress that is starring in that movie that the janitor was watching).

This reminds me of the Red Shoes (1948. Already saw it. it sucked. Im thinking of never watching this movie ever again. I love Kaufman and a love your reviews so I was very excited to this video since I saw your Kaufman Marathon on Letterboxd. And man what a incredible video, probably my favorite. I love your style and how your reviews are so unique. Kaufman is right there. Ooh Im pumped for this one. You guys couldnt give us a circle or anything for the satellite? Seriously? Where the hell do we even start looking? Huge L WatchMojo. I felt this movie was more like Mullholand Drive.
